How Install Wall Light

Use chain pliers or pliers with a screwdriver to open the link on the end of the chain. Choose a location for the fixture and run power to that location through the inside wall. Install any globes or shades that go with your new fixture then install the bulbs. Drill 1 inch holes down through the wall s top plate the top horizontal two by four accessible from the attic or from the attic crawlspace. If something doesn t work properly be sure to turn the power back off at the breaker before you remove the fixture and check your connections. If the gasket doesn t seal properly against the siding on your house you can install a mounting block.

Drill one hole through the top plate into the wall space. To install a wall mounted light you ll use a ceiling box and wire just as you would for a ceiling light. Restore power to the fixture and check to ensure it operates correctly. Replacement will usually mean removing the old bracket and installing a new one included with the new light fixture.

To connect the light fixture to the junction box screw in the crossbar the nipple lock nut and the screw collar loop that supports the fixture.
